Wine in Azores

The Wine in Azores is an annual wine event held on the beautiful Azores island of So Miguel. With 15 years of history, the festival is organized by Gorgeous Azores and is considered a landmark in the region’s event calendar.
During the festival, wine producers from all over the country come to present their best harvests and showcase their latest releases. The public has the opportunity to taste a wide variety of Portuguese wines, including some of the best Azorean wines. More than 200 types of local, regional, and national wines are featured at the event, making it one of the most popular wine festivals in Portugal.
In addition to wine tasting, the festival offers a range of activities and experiences related to viticulture. Visitors can participate in tasting workshops, visit producer stands, and enjoy wine and local food pairings. They can also learn about Azorean culture and winemaking traditions on tours of São Miguel Island.

One of the most popular attractions of the event is the “blind tasting” competition. In this competition, wines selected by a panel of experts are tasted blind and awarded based on quality and taste. The result is always eagerly awaited by producers and wine enthusiasts.
